How to cancel ChatGPT Plus

If you subscribed on chatgpt.com, cancel in Settings, Billing. Do it at least 24 hours before your billing date.

Steps

  1. Sign in to ChatGPT on the web.
  2. Open your account menu and select Settings.
  3. Select Billing.
  4. Under Cancel plan, select Cancel.

Refunds, timing and things to know

  • Cancel at least 24 hours before your next billing date to avoid the next charge.
  • Paid features stay until the end of the current billing period.
  • Canceling does not refund earlier charges. OpenAI says refund eligibility depends on your purchase and location; ask OpenAI Support while signed in (for web and Google Play purchases).
  • Uninstalling the app does not cancel.

If someone else bills you

  • Apple App Store: Settings > your name > Subscriptions > ChatGPT > Cancel Subscription. Refunds for Apple purchases come from Apple.
  • Google Play: Play Store app > Subscriptions > ChatGPT > Cancel subscription.

Save proof. Take a screenshot of the confirmation screen and keep the confirmation email. If you are charged again after canceling, our billing error letter can help.
