How to cancel Netflix

Last checked Oct 2026Source: the company's own help page (linked below)

Cancel online from the Manage your membership page. You keep watching until the end of the billing period.

Menu pathAccount > Manage your membership > Cancel > Finish Cancellation

Steps

  1. Go to the Netflix Manage your membership page and sign in if asked.
  2. Tap or click Cancel.
  3. Under Cancel, tap or click Finish Cancellation.
  4. Watch for the confirmation email Netflix sends to the email on the account.

Refunds, timing and things to know

  • Signing out or deleting the Netflix app does not cancel your account. Netflix says the steps above are the only way to cancel.
  • If you cancel with time left in your billing period, you can keep watching until the account cancels at the end of that period. You will not be charged again unless you restart.
  • Just want a break? Netflix offers Pause for 1 Month on most plans (not the Basic plan, and not for some payment methods).

If someone else bills you

  • If you do not see a cancel option, you pay through a partner (for example your phone or TV provider). Go to your Account page and look under Membership for a link or instructions for that partner.

Save proof. Take a screenshot of the confirmation screen and keep the confirmation email. If you are charged again after canceling, our billing error letter can help.
